Tod saw a flash of red, so fleeting it could have been imaginary. But his imagination never played tricks with him, he thought, taking another backward step. Tessa was the one who got carried away with that stuff. He took another step flashing blinking light and it happened again. A flash of light, bright red, in the corner of his eye. "Did you see that?" he asked Tessa. "What?" "That". He pointed. Reflected in the window of Home Office Depot was a sign: GEMINI JACK'S U RENT ALL. It blinked on, then off. It blinked again. The twins saw that underneath, in smaller letters, there was more: BE FIRST IN THE UNIVERSE! "There's something weird about that reflection", said Tessa. "You're right. Reflections should be backward", said Tod. "That one isn't". The reflection disappeared.
